I can’t believe it’s 2022, and we have to worry about wars. It’s crazy! When we thought we’d finally be able to get back to our normal lives, this happened. I am writing these lines less than 600 miles away from Kyiv, where Putin’s army is attacking the children of Ukraine. Because that’s what’s happening here. I don’t care about the politics behind this invasion. I care about the thousands of mothers who were forced out of their homes and country with just the clothes on them and their babies between their arms. I’m not sure what media shows internationally, but here, near Ukraine, we see it as it is. Men in Ukraine have remained to fight a war that isn’t theirs, while the wives have run away. Where? For how long? Nobody knows. They just try to cross the border, any border, to get their kids out of there. They left behind homes, jobs, and family. It’s heartbreaking. People are dying, families are being destroyed, and an entire nation is brought to the ground. This is murder.
